INTERVENTIONAL SPINE SPECIALISTS - PRE-VISIT INFORMATION

Do you know what medications you are taking and what for? If you don’t know, call our office to discuss your medications.

Bring all medications or a complete list of medications including doses to your appointment. If you are taking Coumadin or Heparin, please call our offices at (504) 469-9641

Please notify us prior to your appointment if you are taking aspirin, aspirin products, (i.e., aspirin, BC powders, Bufferin, etc.), heart medications or any other type of blood thinning medication.

STOP prescription non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs 2 days prior to procedure. DO NOT STOP heart, blood pressure or lung medications. Bring asthma inhalers with you to to your appointment.

If you are DIABETIC OR HYPOGLYCEMIC make this known at the time of scheduling your appointment.

Call us immediately if you start to show symptoms of a cold, flu or if you are being treated for an infection. You must be well when you come in for your visit. If you think you are sick, please call our office so me may screen you to see if we need to reschedule your appointment.

You may have a light breakfast and / or lunch depending upon the time of your appointment. Please NO ALCOHOL 12 hours prior to visit!

YOU MUST HAVE A DRIVER TO TAKE YOU HOME. Your coordination may be impaired up to 12 hours due to sedation medication you may receive. If you live 3 or more hours away from New Orleans you must stay overnight in town!

If you are taking a cab, you still need to bring someone to accompany you after the procedure. (your cab driver is not considered a companion).

BRING ALL YOUR RECENT FILMS (MRI'S, CT'S X-RAYS AND MYELOGRAM's ) TO EACH AND EVERY APPOINTMENT, THIS IS THE PATIENT'S RESPONSIBILITY.

DO NOT wear jewelry

MEN should be clean shaven.

Wear comfortable clothing

As a courtesy to all patients, please refrain from wearing heavy perfumes and/or colognes
